Old ideas reborn

Phoenix Composites Ltd is the brainchild of Chris Pellowe. After years of working in the telecommunications industry and making composites and automotive work his hobby he was offered a redundancy package by his former employer and, after a long few months deciding what to do, he made the decision to go self employed working in an industry he loves.

Chris had worked with carbon skinning at a hobby level in the past, partnering with companies around the world on one-off projects back when the process first became popular. At the time there was never enough interest to make it a full time business so it sat in the background gathering dust.

The fortunate timing of the redundancy offered at the same time as his personal instagram account @p3lwo gaining popularity meant Chris saw an opportunity to capitalise on his reach and make a go of the business.

He's still learning how to run a business as he goes, but his quality speaks for itself. He's always looking for exciting new opportunities and loves collaborating with people on unique ideas.

Based out of Airdrie in Scotland the business was named after his one and only son, but the name "Phoenix" was fitting as his career was reborn into a completely new venture.

In its first year of business Phoenix Composites has seen products distributed all over the world. Cars have won awards with his parts installed with clients ranging from McDonalds car park regulars to teams competing in high levels of motorsport.

This is only the beginning, who knows where the end will be...
